Our history
Since its establishment in 1985, WPS Parking Solutions has grown from a local Dutch provider of parking systems into an international full-service organization specializing in innovative parking management solutions.
WPS is a parking expertise center with its own Research & Development department, production sites, and global sales offices. We have representatives across 5 countries, with more than 100 professionals being committed daily to providing full support to our clients.

In May 2023 WPS was acquired by Munich-based family-run industrial holding company CERTINA GROUP. With over 25 years of experience in building and reshaping companies, CERTINA will further invest in WPS, its solutions, customers and employees to drive innovation and growth within the parking industry.

WPS PAY is a flexible payment method, offering easy and instant payment of the parking fee by mobile phone. Searching for a pay station or waiting in the queue now belongs to the past.

In may 2023, WPS was acquired by Munich-based industrial holding company CERTINA GROUP.
2022
As the first parking solutions provider to embrace a hardware interoperable approach, the partnership with Prestop marks the start of connecting third party hardware through the WPS Platform.

During Intertraffic 2022, WPS has unveiled its new groundbreaking approach to parking: Open and Adaptive.
2020
WPS together with JustPark and Cornwall Council have been named winners of the Parking Technology category at the British Parking Awards in 2020.

In 2020 WPS has released the new ParkID parking management system, version 3.0 which includes a brand new Graphical User Interface and has been expanded with a whole range of extra functionalities.
2015
Following the bankruptcy of its parent Royal Imtech, WPS received a new owner: Egeria. Dynniq emerged from Imtech Traffic & Infra, which was acquired by private equity firm Egeria in August 2015.

The next generation of parking equipment. The ParkAdvance system design is robust, reliable and long-lasting, designed specifically for maximum uptime and intuitive user experience.
2009
WPS rolled out its first version of ParkID, the software which runs on our hardware.
2004
WPS further expands into Belgian market through acquisition of Automatic Systems Parking.
2002
In 2002, WPS established WPS Belgium in Genk.
2001
WPS UK was founded through acquiring part of Universal Parking Systems.
2001
In 1994, local engineers Mr. Hornos and Mr. Carrinhos represented WPS NL in South America, distributing the European Portfolio. In 2001, WPS Brazil was founded to produce hardware and software locally, leading to the launch of the Parking+ product family for faster market response.
1999
In 1999 WPS HQ moved to the building at the Hoevenweg, where the it still resides up to this very day.
1997
In 1997, WPS became part of Imtech, division Imtech Traffic & Infra.
1994
In 1994 WPS set foot in America as WPS North America Inc - In 1997 the name split into WPS Canada Inc. and WPS USA Corp, to more clearly define the business region.
1989
The WPS BC200 automated parking system was the first to use state-of-the-art barcode technology.

The barcode in the parking industry has been invented by WPS.
1985
WPS was founded in Nuenen, a village in Noord-Brabant, The Netherlands.
